Northern Hemisphere

The majority of snow resorts are in the Northern Hemisphere (where, equally, are located most people and landmass).  Rather than exhaust this site and your patience by listing every resort and details about them, Snow Business has selected a few resorts from each destination area for your interest.

These will rotate, please visit again and watch your desired resort appear – perhaps you’d like to send us feedback about resorts for us to feature?  If you want further information about any resort, please contact us and we will discuss this individually with you.

Snow season runs from November to May (depending on the resort)

  • Destinations include Japan, USA, Canada and Europe
  • Downhill skiing and snowboarding available at most resorts
  • Cross country skiing available at most resorts
  • On-snow accommodation available at most resorts
  • Shortest ‘Australian capital city to major resort’ access time is either Niseko or Rusutsu in Japan – approx 10 hours flight time (Australian East Coast) plus 2 hour car/coach transfer, with the bonus of no jet lag!
  • For Canada, Whistler is 2.5-3hrs car transfer from Vancouver, which is approx. 20 hours from the Australian East Coast.  Or take an internal flight to Kelowna and 1 hour car transfer to Big White or Silver Star (ends up about the same total time).
  • In the USA you can fly direct to Aspen, taking approx. 22 hours, or fly to San Francisco (approx. 17 hours) and from there transfer to Heavenly by car (3-3.5hrs).
  • The diverse choices of Europe really depend on your desired itinerary, but international flights are approx 20-22 hours, varying according to destination country.  For example, a 21 hour flight to Geneva and in 1.5hrs by car you have a whole selection of resorts (including the legendary Chamonix), the same if you fly into Innsbruck and the Austrian Alps…

What are you waiting for?!
